
Alyssa Gangarosa Coble founded Georgia Youth Choir in order to achieve the vision of the finest youth choir in the State of Georgia while focusing on best serving the children and parents.
Ms. Gangarosa Coble served as Managing Artistic Director of Georgia Young Singers from 2003 through 2007. She directed and founded the annual GYS Summer Choral Festival. She is a Music Teacher at Trinity School in Atlanta and was Music Specialist at Kemp Elementary School in Cobb County for five years. Prior to these positions, she served as Assistant Director of both the renowned Indianapolis Children’s Choir and the Columbus Indiana Children’s Choir. She has served as a music educator in Georgia and Indiana for eighteen years.
Ms. Gangarosa is a frequent guest conductor/ clinician for honor choirs, choral festivals and workshops across the country. Her most recent appearances include conducting the Metroplex Children’s Choir in Texas, the Midwest Kodály Music Educators of America Middle School Honor Choir, and the South Washington and Oregon Kodály Educators Honor Choir Festival. She served as choral director for the annual Junior Academy of Music at the University of Michigan-Flint since 1999. Ms. Gangarosa is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, Music Educators National Conference, and the Organization of American Kodály Educators (OAKE). She has written reviews of choral literature for OAKE’s national publication, The Envoy. She served as President of the Indiana Kodály Educators and is a founding Board member of the newly formed Kodály Educators of Georgia.
Ms. Gangarosa holds the degrees of Bachelor of Music Education from Augusta State University, and Master of Music in Education from Florida State University, where she was inducted into the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. She is a certified Kodály instructor, having received her training at Indiana University under esteemed Dr. Jean Sinor.
